An initiative by the Centre for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging in collaboration with CLAIM gGmbH

Anti-Muslim Racism is a widespread but often overlooked social phenomenon – it manifests itself in everyday life as well as in the university context. This workshop provides an introduction to Anti-Muslim Racism and discrimination, raises awareness of its various forms, and offers a safe space for discussion, reflection and a practical examination of examples from your everyday (student) life.

The aim of this workshop is to expand your systematic knowledge, encourage reflection on your own attitudes and structural interrelationships, and develop practical skills for dealing with discrimination sensitively in both academic and non-academic contexts.

What to expect from the workshop:

  • Raising awareness of Anti-Muslim Racism as a specific form of discrimination
  • Information on the historical development and current manifestations of Anti-Muslim stereotypes
  • Reflection on your own positions and everyday experiences
  • Strategies for solidarity-based action

The workshop is open to all students at Humboldt University – regardless of whether they are personally affected. It invites participants to broaden their perspectives, reflect on their thought patterns and explore possible courses of action together.

Venue: Room 2070a in the Main Building (Unter den Linden 6)
